科爾于1965年9月27日出生在黎巴嫩貝魯特，在1988年NBA選秀中科爾于次輪第25順位被太陽隊選中。球員時期的科爾曾效力于太陽、騎士、魔術、公牛、馬刺以及開拓者，并在1995-96、1996-97、1997-98賽季隨公牛隊完成三連冠，隨后在1998-99賽季隨馬刺隊奪冠，在2002-03賽季再次隨馬刺隊奪冠，并于賽季結束后宣布退役。

退役后，科爾成為了TNT的解說員，2007年成為太陽隊總經理。2010年科爾宣布離職，之后又回到解說員崗位。

2014年5月，科爾成為勇士隊主教練。2016年4月14日，科爾率領勇士得到73勝，成為NBA歷史上單賽季贏球最多的球隊，科爾也成為唯一一位兩次拿到單賽季72勝（及以上）的人。至今，科爾率領勇士奪得了4個總冠軍。

2021年12月21日，科爾成為美國男籃主教練。在今年結束的巴黎奧運會上，美國男籃奪得金牌。
